There’s a moment towards the end of winter when cozy comfort foods start to lose their charm.
After months of staying in to avoid the cold weather, indulging in a few too many desserts, and leaning hard into time on the couch, I was ready for something lighter.
I didn’t want to overhaul my whole life, just start making choices that felt better for me longer term. That meant choosing meals that felt energizing instead of heavy.
To solve my problem, I turned to GreenPan’s Frost. You might not think a frozen dessert maker would be the best tool in my arsenal to support my health goals, but it’s actually been incredibly helpful for transforming my daily diet.

Smoothies shine when you’re searching for healthy meals. They’re easy, flexible, and endlessly customizable. And with the GreenPan Frost frozen dessert maker, they’re super simple to make. All you do is blend and pour, and the Frost does the rest.
I started using GreenPan’s Frost to make smoothies for breakfast a few weeks ago, and it’s been a game changer in making it easy to live a healthy lifestyle.
There’s just something about a chilled, fruit-packed smoothie that feels a breath of fresh air. It’s not about restricting your diet, but about doing more of what makes you feel good. Think nourishing your body with healthful ingredients, like fresh fruit, leafy greens, yogurt, and nuts.
As we inched closer towards spring, I started thinking about how I want to be strong and energized this summer. Beach days and vacations might feel a long way off, but I want to be in great shape for them to have maximum fun when the time comes. Daily smoothies are a great way to support that mindset.

With the Frost, you’re not limited to basic smoothies. It chills and churns any mixture, which means that whatever you put into the machine comes out creamier, smoother, and more satisfying than a quick blitz in a standard blender.
GreenPan’s Frost is nothing like a traditional ice cream maker. There’s no wait time to freeze the bowl overnight - the Frost does things differently. It has a built-in compressor, which means it chills on demand. You just add your ingredients, select a mode (I’ve been hitting the smoothie mode hard, but it can also make frozen drinks, milkshakes, soft serve, and more), and let it get to work. In about 15 to 30 minutes, you’ve got a perfectly blended creation.
The seven texture settings means you can fine-tune exactly how creamy or light you want your blend. Maybe you like your drink thick enough to eat with a spoon, or maybe you want it to be sippable to drink on-the-go. The Frost does it all.
When you’re done, there’s even a simple clean mode to help simplify cleanup, along with removable parts designed for easy washing. It feels less like a special-occasion appliance and more like something you’ll actually use on a Tuesday morning. Which is exactly what I’ve been doing.

Smoothies can be protein-rich for after a workout, packed with fiber to keep you full, or loaded with citrus for when you need a little cold-weather brightness.
Here are three easy, spring-ready smoothies to make in your Frost. For each one, simply blend the ingredients, pour them into the churning chamber, select your preferred mode, and adjust the texture setting to your liking.
Ingredients:
1 cup mixed berries
1 tablespoon almond or peanut butter
½ frozen banana
1 scoop vanilla protein powder
¾ cup almond milk
My preferred mode: Smoothie
My preferred texture: Level 5, or medium thick
This creamy, nutty smoothie is naturally sweet, perfect for a satisfying breakfast or post-workout blend.
Ingredients:
1 orange, peeled
1 handful fresh spinach
½ green apple, chopped
Juice of ½ lemon
¾ cup coconut water
Mode: Slushy or Sorbet
Texture: Level 2 or 3, for a light, icy blend
This blended drink is fresh, and subtly sweet with a citrus kick. It feels like early spring in a glass!
Ingredients:
1 cup fresh strawberries
¾ cup plain Greek yogurt
1-2 teaspoons honey
½ cup milk of choice
Mode: Milkshake
Texture: Level 4, for a smooth and sippable dessert alternative
Cool and tangy, this fruity drink sits somewhere between a smoothie and frozen yogurt. It makes a great dessert option for when you want something a little lighter and wholesome-feeling.
Getting ready for spring and summer doesn’t have to mean dramatic changes. Sometimes it’s as simple as choosing a breakfast that leaves you feeling energized, or an afternoon snack that feels intentional instead of automatic.
GreenPan’s Frost makes those small upgrades easier. Keeping this machine on my counter means it’s easy to turn everyday ingredients into drinks and healthy treats that feel special, without extra planning or prep.
As the days slowly get longer and the air starts to warm, it’s the perfect time to blend up something fresh.
