Delicious, Low-Carb, Better Than Orgain: My Review of Love Sweat Fitness’ Protein Powder

I’ve been an Orgain customer for years. You can often find me at Costco, hoarding bulk boxes of their Plant-Based Protein Powder. But I can’t say their product is flawless. It costs me quite a bit, has an aftertaste that I tolerate because I have to, and is surprisingly high in carbs – 16 grams per serving! Plus, maybe TMI, but the protein powder farts were… pretty aggressive.

I recently went on the hunt for an alternative and discovered Love Sweat Fitness’ Plant Protein, promising all the good of Orgain without the negatives. Here’s what happened when I tried it.

Dethroning Orgain

Just looking at the numbers, Love Sweat Fitness has the upper hand. At just $1.54/serving (Orgain is more than double that!), you’re still getting 20 grams of protein every time. Plus, Love Sweat Fitness boasts only 3 grams of carbs and 3.5 grams of fat… I have to wonder if Orgain has been hindering my fitness journey this entire time?

One place that Orgain beats out Love Sweat Fitness is variety – Orgain has tons of random flavors, whereas Love Sweat Fitness centers on three: Vanilla (their best-seller and my fave), Chocolate, and Peanut Butter. But in my opinion, it’s better to do the basics well than to put out avant-garde flavors (Fruity Cereal? No gracias) that leave you unsatisfied.

Let’s talk about the grit factor. Orgain recommends two scoops per serving, but I can usually only do one or I feel like I’m drinking sand. Love Sweat Fitness’ Plant Protein is SO MUCH EASIER to mix into any of my drinks, and comes out super creamy and smooth. I’ve learned that a good froth and a quick shake in a blender bottle makes sure everything dissolves easily – I love it in oat milk or even just water.

But does Plant Protein actually yield better results than Orgain? Short answer: yes!

Getting More Out Of My Workouts

Turns out, you don’t need all those carbs for a delicious protein powder, and after using Love Sweat Fitness’ Plant Protein I actually started to see a change in my body.

Orgain had me stagnating, and I was getting frustrated. But with less fat and carbs in the Plant Protein, I’m now building more lean muscle. I’ve been more excited about going to the gym than I have in a long time – maybe ever.

My first experience saw some user error as I tried to mix everything in with just a fork and noticed dry powder on the bottom. I definitely recommend using a blender or frother for best results, so you’re not missing out on the plant-based benefits! It still tasted delicious though, and definitely had me going back the next day.

The second time I tried it and mixed it properly, I was pleasantly surprised. Their no-bloat promise held up, and instead of feeling gassy after the gym, I was confident and energized – a huge relief!
