There’s an erectile arms race happening in the world of ED meds right now and competition is quickly stiffening. The battle for best of the boner-inducers is quickly boiling down to one simple question: who gets you hardest, fastest?
As someone who prefers to take “as needed” ED meds, I’ve been seriously interested in finding out the answer. Because sometimes I’ll know an hour or so before sex is going to happen. And other times… Well, let’s just say the quicker my meds start working, the better.
So, I tested two different ED meds that both claimed to be the fastest and most effective: Hello Cake’s new flavored Rapid Dissolve Tablets and Ro Sparks ED Meds.

Before we can get to who’s quickest off the starting line, we should probably talk about what’s putting the power into each of these meds. Because the truth is that they’re closer together than you might think.
Both share the same two active ingredients: Tadalafil & Sildenafil. Tadalafil is the active ingredient in Cialis; it’s a long-lasting, but slow to take effect ED medication. While it’s not particularly relevant for this competition, it is worth noting that Tadalafil is what helps you keep getting hard for up to 36 hours after you take your dose.
Sildenafil, on the other hand, is made for speed. It’s the active ingredient in Viagra, the little blue pill that got famous for how fast it started working. Both Sildenafil and Tadalafil are vasodilators meaning that they help increase blood flow, specifically to your penis, which helps you get hard. But where Tadalafil is slow and steady, Sildenafil launches out the gate. It takes effect fast, but burns out almost as quickly.
Both Ro Sparks and Cake ED Meds leverage the combination of active ingredients with the goal of producing a med that both kicks in fast and lasts a long time. But where they start to differ is the delivery method…
So, if both meds are using the same active ingredients, can there really be that much of a difference in how fast they start working? Short answer: absolutely.
Both meds can get you hard in as little as 15 minutes, but with Ro there’s an itty bitty little asterisk with big consequences. It says “After medication dissolved.” And that, right there, is the key to the whole race.
You see, Cake ED Meds dissolve fast. Like putting candy under your tongue, they’re gone in a minute or two. But Ro’s meds take 10 minutes to dissolve and then another 15 minutes to start working. And last time I was in math class, 10 minutes + 15 minutes was actually 25 minutes.
My experience trying both reflected this back pretty accurately. I found that my Cake Meds were dissolved (leaving behind a very pleasant flavor) after just a couple of minutes. And about 15 minutes after that I was solid. Like, solid solid. Yowza.
On the other hand, I don’t know if you’ve ever spent 10 minutes with an ED med under your tongue, but it’s not the sexiest vibe. Even Ro recommends that you “freshen up” while their bitter-tasting meds dissolve. And while I most definitely got hard almost half an hour after first taking the med, by that point the mood of the evening had shifted.
Obviously, there’s more to a good night in bed with your partner than speed. But when you struggle with ED like I do, there’s nothing more frustrating than being stuck at the starting line waiting for your engine to rev up.
It’s a feeling that was captured perfectly by the incredible (and aptly named) band Cake:
He's going the distance, he's going for speed
She's all alone (All alone) all alone in her time of need
If you’re looking for an ED med that gets you up to speed fast and lets you go the distance, my personal recommendation is Hello Cake’s Flavored ED Meds. And just for taking the time to read, you can get them for 20% off right now with code: PRIMARY20
