For most of my twenties and early thirties, my cookware situation could best be described as piecemeal.
Throughout college and roommate situations, I’ve amassed a collection of hand me downs, impulse purchases, and random pieces that somehow survived multiple moves. They just about got the job done, but it never felt like the kitchen setup I actually wanted.
All of that changed recently. I finally moved into a place with a kitchen that felt worthy of all the cooking dreams I'd been saving up for that distant ‘someday’. Suddenly, I had the counter space, storage, and room to host dinner parties without balancing serving dishes on every available surface. I could have my family over for Sunday meals, and friends over for weekend dinners.
It felt like the right time to invest in cookware that could grow with me. That’s when I discovered the new taupe version of GreenPan's Valencia Pro 19 Piece Set.

You might think that cookware isn’t the most exciting purchase - but my Pinterest boards would show you that you’re wrong. The taupe color of GreenPan’s Valencia Pro pans was exactly what I've been searching for all these years.
This soft, approachable taupe shade feels like the perfect medium between stark black, stainless steel, or the brightly colored and pastel shades that GreenPan is known for. Don’t get me wrong, I love mint green and butter yellow, but I wanted something ultra-classic for my new grown up kitchen.
Taupe is warm, elevated, and sophisticated without trying too hard. It brings a designer feel to your kitchen while still working with practically any style, whether your vibe leans modern, traditional, or somewhere in between. Rather than tucked away in a cabinet, I actually wanted my cookware on display for the first time ever.

Of course, good looks only take you so far. If I'm investing in a cookware set I plan to use for years, performance and safety matter just as much, if not more.
GreenPan’s been on my radar for a while as an alternative to cookware brands that may use harmful chemicals in their products. GreenPan’s built a reputation around ceramic nonstick cookware that's made without PFAS, PFOA, lead, and cadmium*. As someone who cooks almost every day, knowing exactly what I'm cooking on gives me peace of mind that I’m taking good care of my health both now and in the future.

For this practical, long-term investment, I only wanted the best.
Valencia Pro has long been one of GreenPan's most popular lines, and after using it, I understand why. The pans are built with hard anodized bodies that feel substantial without being overly heavy. They're designed to work on all stovetops, including induction, and they're oven safe, which makes them incredibly versatile. Whether I'm searing chicken on the stovetop and then finishing it in the oven or for a quick, protein-packed weeknight dinner, or slowly simmering a a rich pasta sauce to serve to my best friends on the weekend, these pans can definitely handle the heat.

What really appealed to me with this 19-piece Valencia Pro cookware set in taupe was the idea of buying one complete set, rather than continuing to piece together my kitchen one pan at a time.
I have years worth of bookmarked recipes waiting for their moment and now I finally feel equipped to make them. The 19-piece set has everything I need for nourishing breakfast eggs, ambitious Sunday cooking projects, holiday meals, and spontaneous dinner parties when my buddy calls to say he’s on his way over.
Instead of trying to fit too many ingredients into a too-small pan, or worrying about the long-term effects of cooking on old, scratched nonstick cookware, I can luxuriate with my 19-piece set that covers every eventuality.
My favorite piece from the collection so far is the 11-inch frypan with lid. It’s the perfect size to simmer sauces, braises, and healthy veggies.

Since the Valencia Pro set arrived on my doorstep, I've found myself spending more time in the kitchen than I ever have before. Friends come over more often because I volunteer to host. Recipes I've been meaning to try for years suddenly feel not only manageable, but enjoyable. Cooking has shifted from something I squeeze into my schedule to something I genuinely look forward to. It’s helping me to eat healthier and spend less money on takeout. Finally, my kitchen feels like the heat of my home, just like I always dreamed it would.
As I've gotten older, I've become much more intentional about the things I bring into my house. I'd rather buy fewer pieces that I truly love than constantly replace things that don't quite work. That's exactly how I feel about my taupe Valencia Pro set.
It's beautiful, thoughtfully designed, and built for the kind of cooking I've always imagined for myself. More importantly, it represents finally having a home and a kitchen that feel like they fit the life I'm building.
