If you asked a random person on the street to name an ED med (not that we recommend doing this), there’s a good chance they’d say Viagra. The little blue pill is quite possibly the most famous of all ED meds, and for good reason. Its fast-acting ingredient, Sildenafil, was a first on multiple fronts: it was the first PDE5 inhibitor (a vasodilator that serves as the basis of most modern ED meds) as well as the first oral pill for ED (instead of injections).
I wanted to find out if Viagra still lived up to the hype, especially as a new generation of compound ED medication formulas (ones that combine multiple active ingredients) is becoming increasingly more popular. So, I did what any reasonable person would do and put Viagra to the test against my favorite compound ED med from Hello Cake.
Does Hello Cake’s combination formula of Sildenafil and Tadalafil make a difference? Does the format of the medicine actually matter? And who’s actually delivering the most bang for your boner buck? So, Hello Cake ED Meds vs Viagra… honestly, this one was more of a “does the name brand actually make a difference?” competition than anything. Because realistically, my Cake Meds contain 80% of the Sildenafil in my Viagra prescription plus a second active ingredient, Tadalafil.
What I found is that getting the name brand does not somehow make the medicine magically more effective. If anything, it makes it all the more disappointing, especially considering how much of a hassle it is to get name brand Viagra covered through my insurance.
The other thing that I didn’t necessarily consider until I was actually taking the meds is how the format affects the onset time. Viagra is famous for being the faster-acting ED med. But that’s only in comparison to its direct competitor Cialis, which takes an hour plus to kick in. When you start comparing a Viagra pill to a quick-dissolve Cake med… Viagra feels like it’s driving in the slow lane.
And the final bit is, of course, duration. With a ~4 hour total duration Viagra is basically just good for one session. Sure, you can probably go for round 2, but you’re not getting it on in the evening and then still good to go for that sweet morning sex when you wake up. Cake, however, is good for both. And the night after. And the morning after that. Which really makes you feel like you’re getting your money’s worth.

Viagra is a classic for a reason. The “little blue pill” is legendary for being the first PDE5 inhibitor – a class of drugs that relaxes blood vessels and smooth muscles to help give men erections, something that could only be done by injection (ouch!) previously. And the medicine itself is still a very important part of today’s generation of compound ED meds. So, you gotta respect the classics.
But in the same way that you wouldn’t expect a classic sports car to beat a modern, souped-up one around the track, you just can’t expect plain ol’ Viagra pills to keep up with all the advancements that have happened in the world of ED meds.
The Sign Up Process:
I had a hard time getting brand name Viagra. Or, maybe more specifically, I had a hard time getting brand-name Viagra prescribed online. The majority of the online ED pill shops only prescribe generic Sildenafil instead of the brand name stuff. But since I was trying Viagra to compare it to another med, I wanted to try the big guy himself.
The Price:
Price was my second layer of complication. If you want the brand name Viagra (like I did), be prepared to pay for it, insurance or no insurance. Like $90 a pill. Most expensive erections of my life.
The Experience:
There’s one absolutely undeniable truth about Viagra: Sildenafil gets you hard. Seriously, that stuff is great. I was very pleased with the quality of my erections with Viagra. I had that “I need to do something with this” kind of boner that was an absolute pleasure to take care of. And while the Sildenafil lasted, I was definitely good to go for round two.
But that was pretty much it. I never really got past two rounds with any given pill, whether I was having sex or masturbating. I like to really take my time when I’m going through the effort of taking ED meds (especially when they’re this pricey!), and even though the refractory period isn’t an issue, I often need to pause for a bit between rounds to catch my breath, rehydrate, let the dog out, etc. etc.
Overall, Viagra works. It’s undeniable. But it doesn’t exceed. Taking Viagra feels like cooking up a frozen pizza when you live next door to an amazing by the slice joint. You could do it. But… why?

The future is here! And it is throbbing. Yowza. I really didn’t notice any difference between the 40mg of Sildenafil in Cake’s meds vs the 50 in Viagra. But I did notice the Tadalafil. For a full 36 hours it felt like I had my dick wired up to a switch. Get turned on, instant boner. Chill out a bit, boner gone.
All in all, it felt like the Hello Cake ED Meds just won in every category. They kicked in faster, kept me going for longer, and left me feeling like I was getting more for the price. Much respect to the classics, but I’m going with the hot new thing all day.
The Sign Up Process:
Sign up was a breeze! No mess, no fuss, no nonsense. I had a super quick exchange with my doc and then that was that. The questionnaire took maybe 3 minutes? Really, no problems at all on this end.
The Price:
Easy. Breezy. Not too pricey. Certainly not a bank account buster like brand name Viagra is. Even the slightly pricier extra-strength dose of Cake Meds is a far cry from the $90 a pill I got my Viagra for. But with a first time offer and up to 30% off future offers if you buy in bulk, Cake Meds come out to a great price per dose.
The Experience:
How to describe taking these meds… Think back on your best ever erections. Your Mount Everest of hard ons. There’s probably some memories in there like “first time with an amazing new partner,” or “that one random time in high school,” or “when she finally let me try that…” Now, imagine you could have that kind of erection on demand. Starting in about 15 minutes of the meds dissolving under your tongue and lasting for thirty six freaking hours.
And look, with great boners comes great responsibility. You will need to be careful about chafing. You will need to remember that you can’t just stay up all night jerking off when you have work in the morning. You will need to order more lube. But man, those are burdens I’m more than happy to shoulder.
It’s easy to understand why Viagra’s been the top ED med for so long: for decades it was the fastest, most convenient med out there. But in my opinion, the king hasn’t kept up with the times, and the new gen is coming for that crown.
Everywhere that Viagra succeeds, Hello Cake ED Meds do it one better. Viagra’s fast; Cake Meds are faster. Viagra keeps you hard for 4 hours; Cake Meds keep you hard for 36. Viagra lets you have sex; Cake Meds let you have sex again and again and again.
After trying both, I find that the overall benefits of Hello Cake ED Meds provide the absolute most bang for your buck. And maybe most importantly, they helped this not-so-young-buck do the most bangin’. So watch out, little blue pill. Because this orange dissolvable is here to stay.
